CLUB HISTORY
WHO WE ARE (09/12/07)

As stated we came about as a result of FirstFootball. I started FirstFootball following a conversation with a parent who was upset his son had been turned away from a local club for not being good enough....aged 8!!

To me that is morally not right, we started a little session in a church hall and within 3 months had outgrown it. Very quickly our numbers swelled to 70 and we re located to our current home at St. Joseph's Catholic School.

Never really planning to get into the team thing we offered to advise on local clubs but a large majority stayed loyal and didn't join 'league' clubs.

Both i know and the parents know that some of the kids would not get into a Club team due to the clubs being so competitive.

If kids want to play in matches, why shouldn't they be able to? Its my belief that every kid should play as even a time as any other player, where possible.

Football is not a game of chess, its a game of expression, their ideas aren't there to be stifled, let them try without the fear of failure and you never know they may just succeed.

Yes we are disorganised as a team, yes I make too many changes and YES THE KIDS ENJOY THE FOOTBALL. I cant make 11 fit into 7 but i don't apologise for that, i'd rather lose a game and be fair to th eboys than win and throw someone on for the last minute.

Without personal enjoyment......talent is worthless.

Keep it real....its the kids game not ours.

How qualified/capable is your football team's registered first aider?
Qualified and fully capable
Has done some basic training but is hardly qualified. It's just to meet regulations really.
Don't have a registered first aider - we blag it!
Don't officially need a registered first aider
Don't even know who our first aider is!
Become deadlier in front of goal with Darren Bent

Darren Bent is one of the Barclays Premier League’s most prolific strikers. Now he’s passing on his top tips to help amateur strikers everywhere score more this month.
